Gary and his wife Kristin have lived in Spokane for 24 years. Their family includes 4 children, Jake (23), Charlie (21), Sam (18) and Molly (14). Gary and Kristin met at The University of Puget Sound where coincidently, Gary and Zale were fraternity brothers. Gary and Kristin married shortly after graduating and spent 5 years in Roseburg, Oregon before moving to Spokane to start their family. Sports and an active lifestyle have always been part of their family's DNA. All 3 boys played varsity sports in high school and Molly has been active in sports through middle school. She also has a real love of animals.
Most summer days you can find Gary and his family on the lake, surfing with friends or on the greens, playing a round of golf. Pickle ball and attending sporting events are also popular pasttimes. Gary loves yard work and the satisfaction it brings to accomplish something through hard work.
After working for his family's businesses in Roseburg, Gary pivoted to Financial Services when he and Kristin moved to Spokane. Financial Services was a natural fit after the real life experience of budgeting, employee benefits, sales and investing. He was able to experience the process of family estate planning with his grandfather, and his uncle force-fed him bookkeeping and accounting while working with him. This small business experience has led Gary to focus on the needs of business owners. In addition to managing assets, Gary will focus on cash flow planning, insurance planning and structuring benefit packages for his clients that do own or operate a small business.
He is really excited to be a part of Pillar Financial Group. The emphasis on personal relationships, face to face meetings and the ability to help people in all areas of finance and insurance is extremely appealing to him. Serving the client should always be the number one priority and he feels that the larger firms that he has worked for in the past are losing sight of that.
